Trifonic – Emergence

So what’s it all about? Trifonic are the latest sibling double act to make an excellent electronic album- brothers Brian and Lawrence Trifon hail from San Francisco and backgrounds in hard rock and hip-hop. Emergence is not the nu-metal album you might expect though, but instead a beautiful and intimate, yet slickly produced combination of icy, glitched-out electronica and acoustic rock intimacy. Brian is a cohort of a certain Brian Transeau, and many of the glitch effects and precision-shuffled rhythm patterns on the album are strongly reminiscent of BT’s most recent album This Binary Universe, on which he played guitar.
